Import/Export (Overview)

This topic summarizes the underlying concepts of RC-WinTrans X8's import and export functions.

An import/export operation is performed for the item(s) (translation unit(s) that is (are) selected in RC-WinTrans' Text Table view.  Note that multiple items can be selected in the Text Table view to specify the items for which the operation is to be performed.  It is also worth mentioning that this same principle applies to other actions as well, such as the deletion of translation entries or the setting of flags for a number of items at once.  The basic concept is as follows: select the items in the Text Table view, then perform the operation.  Since the operation will be performed for the selected items, the first step in performing an import or export operation is to select the items to be imported or exported in the Text Table view.  Next choose the source or destination medium (usually an external file) or a dictionary (listed in RC-WinTrans' Dictionaries view).
