This topic summarizes the new features added to the latest build versions of RC-WinTrans 9 and 10.
JSON (Java Script Object Notification) files can now be translated with RC-WinTrans (file extension = .json).
More information on this file type can be found at www.json.org.
Three multi-language views with user interfaces available in 11 different languages that can be changed at run-time. Multi-language view GUI languages: English, German, Swedish, Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese Simplified.
The RC-WinTrans application's graphical user interface (GUI) has been localized into German. Available application GUI languages now consist of: English, French and German.
The Quick Launch page features a workflow-like graphical interface with centralized data access and commands related to a source file, its target file, and the data contained in the translation project.
The GUI can be displayed in 11 different languages (listed above).
The Samples page offers several sample files and projects to demonstrate the localization of file types supported by RC-WinTrans. It is an excellent resource for getting started with RC-WinTrans and familiarizing oneself with the tool's features and commands more quickly and easily than ever.
A translated/localized .NET assembly (EXE file) can be started through the Quick Launch page. The assembly gets its own local language domain which causes the application to be shown with the GUI of its satellite DLL currently localized (and created by) RC-WinTrans. The advantage to this is that the application does not need to have its own language selection implemented. The localized application can be viewed immediately.
Improved display of project languages, which can now be viewed together (side by side) or in different combinations in the main "Project" window.
Modified Import and Export Assistants for exchanging data with Microsoft Excel files; new color display for Excel spreadsheet entries.
NOTE: The new integrated Excel import/export operations supercede the Excel Import/Export Add-On used with previous versions of RC-WinTrans.
Modified Import and Export Assistants for exchanging data with character separated text files (.CSV).
New statistics display and Words dialog listing all detected words and repetitions.
Support has been added for the following Apple iOS file types:

The use of a translation memory (.sdltm) has been adapted to RC-WinTrans 9.4 via the TM Workbench Add-On. A given translation memory (TM) can also be maintained with the TM Workbench.
A translation memory (.sdltm) can be added to the Dictionaries tab view. A command to open a translation memory (TM) or an RC-WinTrans dictionary (.tmx, .txt) with the TM Workbench has also been added.
A text file-based RC-WinTrans dictionary (.tmx and .txt) can be opened and edited with the new TM Workbench (V2.0).
RC-WinTrans' Translation Edit bar has been improved with:

Localization support for MFC ribbon bars in binary Win32 EXE or DLL files and for the source ribbon XML file *.mfcribbon-ms has been added. For RC files, ribbon bars are localized by translating the *.mfcribbon-ms XML file and replacing the translated file name in the #include statement in the RC file (with RC-WinTrans).

Localization support for MFC User resources in binary Win32 EXE or DLL files.
The "Import from Translation Project" function now imports an item's translation status ("state")
even when the target text is not imported. This allows a translator to set/change a translation unit's status and the new translation status to be imported for the TU. Other data, such as the translation text, no longer needs to be changed/edited in order to get the state imported.
Two new resource type editors are available to open the Ribbon Bar Viewer and a dialog for editing the shortcuts used in an MFC Ribbon Bar.
See the RC-WinTrans Release Notes for all new features, improvements and bug fixes available with the new service release/RC-WinTrans 9.3.

The function to import data from an existing translation project has been improved and extended to identify and locate items for which data has been imported. Furthermore, the import can now be undone with the Undo command and a translation status can be specified for imported items.
The improvements and extensions for the "Import from Translation Project" function (above) are also available for the import from a translated resource file.
Translated target Windows INI files can now be created with UTF-8 encoding.
The WPF stylesheets used by RC-WinTrans to process .NET WPF data have been updated with changes such as including the "ContextMenu" element to be read as a menu resource.
The text fit check for .NET resource files has been improved to take into account whether a control has an "AutoSize = True" property. If it does it will be skipped (excluded from the check).

As of January 2011 WPF resources in .NET assembly files can be translated/localized with RC-WinTrans as "true" WPF, meaning inside a native environment (WPF GUI Editor) which by design handles the display and modification of WPF elements and their related settings in the most accurate and efficient manner possible. The complete source data from a WPF assembly (EXE or DLL)- including WPF windows and menus- is read, presented and rendered for translation with RC-WinTrans.
An ultimate solution for localizing Microsoft .NET WPF applications is now available as an add-on to the RC-WinTrans environment. The "WPF GUI Editor for Localization" features WYSIWYG displays, precise layout editing and a familiar interface that makes it as easy to use and generate high-quality translations of WPF applications.
Extended and improved to process .NET Framework 4.0 files (RESX, .RESOURCES and assembly (EXE, DLL) files).
