Hello
I have a problem when i want to create the resource.dll
error massage
Error (92): The target file "D:\RC-WinTrans\ar\D9ImageVerification.resources.dll" could not be written.
Error (404): The converter "NETFilesConverter.ConvRESX.XliffToFormatFile" returned exit code 4012.
RC-WinTrans: 9.3.2.1
Windows 7
translation from english to arabic
whats going wrong?

Hello nolan,
there is a non-text property item translated which should not be translated.
RC-WinTrans lists also non-text proerties like e.g. ".RighToLeft" (see the "Name/ID" column)
which have e.g. a value "True" or "Inherit". Often it is an item listed as "Unknown Type" in the
"Name/ID" column.
The invalid translation value you can see in the Output tab a few lines before the last error output lines.
Example (error output):
. 'ArgumentException' Exception caught:
. ResX file Falsch is not a valid value for Boolean. Line 130, position 5. cannot be parsed.
Here: the invalid translation is the German word "Falsch".
ToDo:
Check first if it is an "Unknown Type" which is translated. Set the "Unknown Types" to be visible. Use: "View" | "Custom .NET Types (Unknown Type)"
To fix the problem just delete the translation for this item. To avoid translating this item again set the item also as "Excluded from Translation" (Ctrl+E).
Please let me know if you cannot find the item.

Dear sirs,
i think i have very similar problem like Nolan except of different exit code.
File not found
Error (92): The target file "C:\preklad\DLL_TEST_vysledek\IPS.PresentationLayer.AccountingGUI.resources.dll" could not be written.
Error (404): The converter "NETFilesConverter.ConvNetAsm.XliffToFormatFile" returned exit code 4013.
IPS.PresentationLayer.AccountingGUI.resources.dll could not be written.
First i tried to follow your help
Delete the translation of the Unknown/Non-text (dialog) items which i see in Custom .NET Types. and set all this items as "excluded from translation".
Unfortunately when i tried to target the dll file again the same error will appear.

what is the output before this lines ?

I'm not sure what part of the error log you want to see (it's long list) and don't know how to add. attachment.
In the log almost everything seems well:
Preparing to convert "CN08FinalReplyControl.resources" to "CN08FinalReplyControl.resx"...
Read in 169 resources from 'C:\Users\178606\AppData\Local\Temp\RC-WinTrans\RWTTmpFile_1525227393.resources'
Writing resource file...
Done.
But time to time some files wasn't converted e.g.:

I'm not sure if you're still reading this thread, but I have the same problem as Henry. I suspect we're actually trying to translate the same software from the error messages.
There seems to be a dependency between some of the files and the business layer file (mine is called IPS.Core.Business as I have a later version of the software). This is the error message:

I know this problem has been encountered in the past, so I keep the file IPS.Core.Business.dll in the project, even though it has no strings for translation in it, and most of the time it goes ok, but this time I get an error trying to generate the target IPS.Core.Business.resources.dll so I assume that is the root of the error. The error when I try to generate that target file is:

Error (92): The target file "Z:\DEV\Tech_Doc\Localization\Translation projects\IPS 2014 FR SP3\fr\IPS.Core.Business.resources.dll" could not be written.
Error (404): The converter "NETFilesConverter.ConvNetAsm.XliffToFormatFile" returned exit code 0.
