Overview of all translations in a project

Steve
Steve
Is there a way to have a quick overview of the current translation state for all languages (e.g. by percent)?
With "Report..." and "Statistics..." I'm only able to see the state of the current "ACTIVE Target".

If this feature is not available it would be very appreciated.
My problem is that I have 14 languages included in my project at the moment. Whenever I want to check which languages are translated completely, I have to activate each language to take a look at the translation state. This is a very time-consuming task.

Limitation of visible languages in table

When I set all languages in my project to visible at the same time only the source language and 10 target languages are visible in the translation table. When I have more languages in my project, these will not be visible in the translation table.

Is this limitation intended?

Display after language import

Steve

There is a bug with the displayed translations after importing a language other than the current target language.

When my current target language is for example set to German and I import French then the translation table will show the french translations in the column "German".
In the list of available languages opened with the arrow next to the flags in the translation table "German" is still checked. But in the dialog Project->Languages "German" and "French" are checked as visible. The status bar is also displaying the state of the french translations.

Can you remove this limitation or at least increase it?

Checkboxes in Target Files Dialog

Steve

When I add a new resx-file to my project the correspondig target file is not automatically checked in the target files dialog. The problem is now that the parent checkbox does not indicate an unchecked child in some cases. Curiously I remember that I already have seen some cases where the checkbox of the parent node displayed the checkmark on grey background, if childs were unchecked.

Example:

By the way: In my opinion it would be better to automatically check new target files.

How to insert Carriage Return / New Line

Steve
Steve
Hello,

How can I insert a Carriage Return / New Line into a translation?
Is there a more "comfortable" way than copying the source text and re-use existing ones?

I already did this, but I'm not sure how I did this.
Ctrl/Alt/Shift+Enter do not work.

Regards,
Steve

Thanks!

Unfortunately Word crashes when I use the second solution.
When I use "Tools" | "MS Word" I can edit the text. But when I press "Save" in Word, the text is applied in RC-WinTrans, but Word freezes instantly and "Microsoft Office Word has stopped working" ("Microsoft Office Word funktioniert nicht mehr") is displayed.

I'm using Windows 7 (x86), Word 2003 and RC-WinTrans 9.1.0.991.

I can reproduce this on a second PC with Windows 7 (RC-WinTrans 9.1.0.93, Word 2003).
On a third PC with Windows XP (also RC-WinTrans 9.1.0.93, also Word 2003) it works!

So it seems to me, that this only happens on Windows 7.

Migration from V7 Database to V9 Database

Steve

I'm having a problem while migrating a RC-WinTrans 7 Database to a RC-WinTrans 9 Database:

Texts that are not translated in the RC-WinTrans 7 Database are filled with source text (english) after migration in the RC-WinTrans 9 Database.

This means that after migrating to V9 every translation is complete, but with a huge amount of source text. The Translator now has to to re-check every text by hand if it is translated correctly for his language or if it is an english text.

Is it possible (e.g. with a setting) to avoid this behaviour?

Thank you for your answer, but I forgot to mention the following:

If I uncheck the option "Import translations that are identical to the source text", then translated texts that are identical are not imported (like the checkbox says). This would mean that already translated texts like "OK", "min" and "max" are not imported for several languages because they are the same.

What I want is to import all already translated texts to the new database. I don't want to loose identical translated texts (unchecked option) and I don't want to fill up untranslated texts with the source text (checked option).

OK, that's not good

But I think I can help myself with exporting the translation from V7 and importing the missing texts into V9.
