Hello kiroecke,

there is a bug we've fixed with RC-WinTrans Build 11.5.2.74.
The list view used in the export and import dialog is not correctly initialized -- this causes the crash.

Release Notes: http://www.releasenotes.schaudin.com/#Version_11_Release_Notes.htm
Issue: #92

Please download and install RC-WinTrans 11.5.2.
Version 11.5.0 must be deinstalled using the Windows "Remove Program".

In RC-Wintrans Professional 11.5, trying to import of any .xlsx, .txt or .csv sends the application to an immediate crash.
I used an .xlsx that I previously had exported. The crash occurs directly after closing the file selection dialog and is independent to the type of delimiter (TAB or semicolon or colon) or the character coding UTF-8 or generic ASCII, I tried it all.

I would be glad for any assistance.

Hello Alex,

editing/changing a translation unit (TU), the current TU data are saved as history data. The last two changed TU Data are saved. There can be max. two history entries for a TU.

There is no command to delete the history data.

Hi
I had a closer look at the fsmdb files and to me it looks like there is some history information in the fsmdb files. Is that correct?
If so, is there a way to delete this history information?
Thank you for the help
Alex

Machine Translator: DeepL Access Error

The HTTP security protocol required for use was changed, making the DeepL MT service inaccessible.

Error message: "HTTP client could not be created. Please try again a translation
request. Error connecting to the DeepL MT service".
The Machine Translator version 5.2 has been updated to use the new security protocol and access the DeepL MT as usual.

Error when adding .NET dll

Hello lakuda,

"...we're asked to define the type"

It seems RC-WinTrans cannot identify the DLL as it is a .NET DLL.

Something is on with the DLL (?!) ... at least something is unusual for RC-WinTrans. Do you have an idea?

Try: Add an other (simple, test) .NET DLL to the project to see if is is still working.

Can you send me your .NET DLL for a check? To: support@schaudin.com

Q: Are you using a (newly installed) Windows 10? Maybe the Windows Feature ".Net 3.5 / .NET 2.0" is not enabled?
Then the appropriated RC-WinTrans component cannot work.

Hello!

After updating to version 11.3.6.65, we started experiencing problems with adding .NET dll to the project. First, we're asked to define the type of dll and when selecting the corresponding type, we receive Error 750 and Error 402. What can be the problem?

Hello mariomigue,

start RC-WinTrans using the "Run as administrator" command. Then use the Excel Export. Ready.

Using "Run as administrator" is necessary only once.

When I try to export my project strings to Excel (Microsoft Office Pro Plus subscription) I get the following error:
Title: Microsoft Visual for APplications
Message: Compile error in hidden module: Excel module.
This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, platform, or architecture of this aplication. Click "Help" for information on how to correct this error.

When I click Ok, VBA IDE is invoked and the "Reference Check - SetReferences code comes up.
Once I close VBA (and stop the debugger), the following erro comes up:

Title: Error
Message: Error: Failed to run VBA function. VBA macro :"Export", Function:"ExportFrom Intern"

There is somthing about unprotecting the project mentioned in the help but I am not quite sure what that means.

Could it be that my Excel version is incompatible with this export function? Would I need to install a different Excel version?

This is a concrete evidence and observation. Very helpful.
Writing to the standard output we have to fix first.

Thank you for your cooperation and your input up to now.

Is the conclusion on this thread then that there is an issue on running RCWinTrans.exe in parallel and it will not be fixed?

I also get problems with RcWinTrans.exe when I try to do some operation on different databases simultaneously.
My setup is a windows command script, lets call it NighTest.cmd. NightTest.cmd kicks off a perl script that does work on different databases simultaneously. So, I will have eg. 4 instances of RCWinTrans.exe running at the same time doing work on 4 different databases. No database is accessed by more than 1 instance of RCWinTrans.exe at the same time.
When I run NightTest.cmd from a windows command prompt there don’t seem to be any issues with running RcWinTrans.exe in parallel except from the output to the console is off course messed up due to that 4 instances of RcWinTrans.exe is writing to the same console.
But I need to run NightTest.cmd from a Windows scheduled task and then the problems start to occur. If the scheduled task option “Run only when user is logged on” is checked things seems to work fine.
If the option “Run whether user is logged on or not” is checked I start to have problems with running RcWinTrans.exe in parallel, and in my case, I need this option to be checked. My guess is that the problems is related to not having a console when this option is checked.
In general, it is a bit of a mess to write to the console in stead of writing to standard output and standard error especially when a program can (should be able to) be run in parallel.

Best regards
Alex

Hi,
I am working on rolling the use of the new command interface out to a build server, that does automatic builds during the night.
Current we are using the old command line interface via RWTCmd.exe and the output can be piped to a log file with ">" and "2>&1".
How do you pipe the output from the new command line interface using RCWinTrans.exe into a file?
I have tried to use the ">" and "2>&1" like this
NightTest.cmd > NightTest.log 2>&1
where NightTest.cmd contains a call to RCWinTrans.exe
But I still get some output in the console like this (just a random selection of the output):
Language: French (France) (fr-FR)
Checked: 1 of 1 files
Up to date: 1 files
Yes
Returned value: 1

Best regards
Alex

Machine Translator May Fail on First Request

The Machine Translator is initialized with the active/selected RC-WinTrans element and a translation is immediately requested.

The first translation request (where the HTTP is also initialized) can take a long time (approximately 30 seconds) and frequently fails to return a result. The behavior only occurs for the very first translation request. The GUI is not updated until the request is either finished or aborted. Trying again resolves the issue and successfully returns a translation (usually with a brief response time).

Spell Check Error in RC-WinTrans 11

RC-WinTrans 11 users may encounter a problem with the internal spell checker: errors are indicated (by red-colored text in the Translation Edit bar) for words even when they are spelled correctly.

To resolve this issue, start RC-WinTrans once with the "Run as administrator" command:

RC-WinTrans desktop icon >> right-click with mouse to open local menu. Select the "Run as administrator" menu command.
